- The Families First Coronavirus Response Act was signed into law on 3/18/20. This is a significant law with immediate impact on most employers. It provides for mandatory paid leave in a variety of circumstances, intended to be offset by payroll tax credits. - Congress has passed and the President has signed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (The CARES Act). The CARES Act represents the largest stimulus bill ever passed by congress. Provisions include the much anticipated PPP Loan, checks for many individuals, business relief provisions and liberalization of unemployment benefits, among other items.
